MIDWEST ENERGY INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM • Building & Expanding Critical Infrastructure

The Midwest Energy International Symposium Examines How to Build and Expand Critical Infrastructure for Exporting Midwest Transportation Fuels, Fuel Transport Systems, Hydroelectricity, and Nuclear Power. 

 

Over the next two years, the United States will confront a host of energy, environment, and infrastructure challenges. American energy has the power to transform the United States economy by empowering consumers while creating jobs, revenue, and additional economic opportunity, as well as improving United States energy security.

 

Speakers and Panelists will provide valuable information and insight regarding energy exports including ethanol, biodiesel, bio jet fuels and the supply chains and logistics for fuel transport systems including the trucking, railroad and water transport industries. 

 

Dr. Gong Ping Yeh, Fermilab, United States Department of Energy, will be the featured keynote speaker. His research and interests in sustainable energy include wind, solar, biofuels, electric vehicles and improving energy efficiencies. In recent years, he has focused on Accelerator Driven System and Thorium energy as a new source of energy.  Dr. Yeh has been serving internationally as an advisor for sustainable energy in many countries.

 

Lt. General Wallace “Chip” Gregson, Jr. (Ret.) will address United States Department of Defense Sustainable Energy Projects.

 

The Rock Island Arsenal, United States Army, will present energy program models for hydroelectricity.

 

International speakers include:

 

• Mexico: Creating an Energy Self Sufficient Region in NAFTA, Mexico Energy Ministry, Mexico City, Mexico

• Korea :  Korea's Energy Future, Global America Business Institute, Washington, D.C.

• Germany:  Germany's Current Energy Transition and Use of Biogas as a Fuel, German American Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest, Chicago, IL

 

 

General admission is available Thursday, October 9th, 2014, at the Quad-Cities Waterfront Convention Center, 2021 State Street in Bettendorf, Iowa.

 

Registration begins at 7:45 a.m. with the Welcome at 8:30 a.m. The schedule concludes at 3:00 p.m. The cost is $100 and includes breakfast and lunch. The Quad Cities is located on the Mississippi River and is made up of the riverfront cities of Davenport and Bettendorf in Iowa, and Moline, East Moline and Rock Island in Illinois. The area is just a 2-½ hour drive from Des Moines, Iowa, and Chicago, Illinois. It is easily accessible via I-80, I-74, I-88 and several major state highways.
